Raph nodded as he finished setting everything up. Today was the three year anniversary of Raph and Don's relationship and tonight, the emerald turtle was going to as the love of his life a very important question. Smiling, Raph looked to see that he had everything in place. The table was set and dinner was simmering away in the kitchen.

The red banded turtle grinned as he checked his cell. 8:07 pm. His grin turned into a smile as he reviewed his plan in his head. Splinter was having dinner with Casey and April. Leo was with Mikey, something about a Comic Con tonight. Poor bastard thought Raph as he checked on the dinner he cooked. The chicken Alfredo was almost done and desert was chilling in the fridge. The emerald turtle whistled as he finished cooking and he paused when he had reached to get something. Lifting his arm again, he sniffed under his arm.

Gagging, Raph hurried and finished dinner before bolting to the bathroom. Like hell he was going to stink to holy high heaven for his mate. Fuck that. He quickly entered the shower and washed himself with the soap he knew that drove Don into a hormonal frenzy. Finishing the shower, Raph made his way to his and Don's shared bedroom. Upon arrival, he noticed that his olive skinned mate was not in the room. Which was good. He quickly got dressed and made his way to the kitchen to make sure the food was ready.

The food was ready. The table was set. He was clean and the Lair was empty. Grinning ferally, Raph went to retrieve his mate from the lab...

Don was tinkering with an old VCR that he and his lover were planning on selling on their website when someone knocked on the door to their workshop. He raised his head to see Raph entering the room. The olive skinned male smiled as the other walked up to him. It always amazed Don on how he managed to get such a fantastic mate. Raph stopped a could inches away from Don and gave him a quick peck on the lip.

“Hey. Was just here to tell ya dinner's ready.” he said, pulling away before Don could deepen in. Smiling, the purple banded turtle stood from his desk.

“Okay. Let me just go get cleaned up.” he replied, wiping his hands off on a nearby towel.

They gave each other another kiss before Don headed to the bathroom. He couldn't stop the smile spreading from across his face. He was happy with his love, his life. There was nothing that could go wrong right now. His smile was so wide it threatened to break his face. After he washed up, Don made his way to the kitchen only to freeze on the stairs.

Why? For sitting in front of him in the little living room was a little table that had a cream table cloth over it and fine china sitting it. Two candles were lit and from the light scent in the air, it was vanilla and magnolia, which was Don's favorite. But the main thing that got his attention on the table was a large bouquet of Magnolia Flowers. Which were Donatello's favorite flowers. He sighed in wonder, bringing a hand to his lips.

A cough from the kitchen area made Don's honey brown eyes tear from the romantic scene. Standing there awkwardly was Raph. He was fidgeting a bit and playing with a single magnolia with a big pastel purple ribbon tied around the stem. The emerald turtle slowly approached his lover and taking out a remote from his belt. He clicked a button on it and the lights dimmed enough so the romantic scene was the center of attention. Raph stopped in front of Don and held out the flower.

“Donnie, would you like to join me for dinner?” he said, the candle light reflecting in his amber eyes.

Don blinked away the tears that had formed from the sweetness his mate had done. “Yes Raph, I will.”

They both smiled and Don took the flower, bringing it to his beak. He couldn't help the giggle that erupted from his chest as he took Raph's hand. They both walked over to the table and the red banded held out the chair for his love. They both smiled at each other and Don sat down. The older turtle continued to smile as he served their food. They tucked in and made small talk as they ate but after a while, Don noticed Raph stopped talking.

Don's smile slowly disappeared. “Is something wrong?” he asked in a whisper.

Raph shook his head and slowly stood. “Just wait there, I have a surprise for you.”

Don frowned as Raph left the room. After a few seconds, he returned with a strange box. It was a small box wrapped in off white wrapping paper with a purple pastel bow. Don looked at it with curiosity as his boyfriend placed in front of him.

“Here ya go Don, a gift.”

Don looked at him with confusion. They already gave each other their 3 Year Anniversary Gifts so what was this? Don slowly undid the ribbon and carefully take off the wrapping. Using one of his shuriken (What? He was a ninja through and through) he opened the box. Inside was a folder and a little black box. His confusion growing, he pulled them both out. Don glanced at Raph, who nodded at him. The purple banded turtle pulled the folder to him first and opened it. Staring up at him was a piece of paper.

He removed it from the folder and read it. His hand shot to his mouth as he read it. It was an acceptance letter from New York University. Tears formed in his eyes as he continued to read it. “I-I got accepted to NYU?!”

Raph smiled and nodded. “There is more love.”

Don looked at his lover with wide eyes. More? What more was there? Raph reached over and took the black box. He slid down to one knee in front of Don, who dropped the letter. Honey brown met amber and the honey eyes widened. “Oh, god. Raph?”

The red banded turtle smiled and opened the box. Sitting in side of the little box was a ring. Don's hands flew to his mouth with joy. Tears began streaming from his eyes as the love of his soul slowly took out the ring.

“Donatello Hamato, the love of my heart and soul. The one I could never be with out. The blood of my bones. I love you more than I could ever show. Will you marry me?”

Don smiled and hiccuped as tears fell from his face. “Yes. Yes YES!!” he yelled, letting Raph slip the ring on his left hand. After seeing the gold band with a large amethyst with small diamonds surrounding it. He continued to smile and cry as he stared at him. Once it was on his hand, Don launched himself at his lover. They both laughed as they rolled across the floor. They stopped rolling after a while and Don stared up into his love's amber eyes.

He leaned up and kissed him. They continued to lay there in happiness and Don knew that his boyfriend turned into his fiancee was someone he never ever going to let go. Today was his favorite day of the year. No matter what...
