Animal Instincts Chapter 3

Sorry for the short chapter earlier my fans but it is very hard to write in Raph aka Shellback's perspective!!! Seriously, it is. You try it. I dare ya'll. XD

It was roughly an hour later and Don sat on the rim of the tub, glaring at what used to be nail clippers. Raphael was still in the sunk in tub, lazily swimming. The tiger was laying on the other side of the room, not getting anywhere near the tub. Don grumbled, flicking a finger at the now ruined nail clippers. It seemed that Raphael's nails were stronger than Donnie's own. The purple banded ninja managed to clip Raphael's nails but at the cost of the nail clippers. The poor thing barely lasted. Don sighed and looked over a Raphael. The larger turtle was resting in the water now, with his shell pressed up against the wall. A small smile came over Don's face as he looked at the other mutant. Life for Raphael was going to be better.

The smaller male stood, catching Raphael's attention. Don motioned it was time to get out. The larger male slowly got out of the tub, water dripping from his now clean form. Donnie bit his lip as strips of water trailed down Raphael's muscular form. Shaking his head, the purple banded ninja went over to the door. The tiger cub got up and began to slink towards the door, clearly avoiding the water. A snicker came from Donnie and he grabbed a towel. Raphael looked at him with confusion until Don began to gently rub the water off of his skin. The smaller male jumped when he heard the much larger male begin to purr.

Donnie finished drying off Raphael before letting the water drain out of the tub. Raphael continued to watch Donnie, his gold eyes sending shivers down the olive skinned turtle's spine. The two turtles and tiger left the bathroom and went out into the living room, seeing a sight that caused Don to bite his lip in order to stop laughing.

Standing in the middle of the living room was Casey and April. Don could see the heads of his brothers on the couch, doing the same thing he was doing. Watching Casey try and calm his girlfriend down.

“N-Now, April. Babe. Honey. I got distracted. T-That's all.” the vigilante said, holding his hands up in a sign of peace.

April's green eyes flashed dangerously. “Distracted? Casey...I love you. I was sick with WORRY! I didn't know if you were hurt, in a hospital, dying or for heaven's sake DEAD!”

Casey looked down at the ground, guilt spreading throughout his body. “I am sorry April. Look, if it makes you feel any better, I won't go out for a week.”

The red haired woman hugged him, pressing her face in his chest. “Okay.....just please, call me or shoot me a text okay? God I was so scared.....”

“Hey. I am still here ain't I?”

That caused a chuckle to come from April. “Yes. Yes you are. Now, tell me, what had you so distracted that you couldn't call me?”

Casey nodded in the direction of Don and Raphael, noticing them. “The newest additions to the family.”

April looked over and her jaw promptly fell open. “I-is that another turtle?”

Don nodded. “Yep. April, meet Raphael.”

The woman came up to her best friend, looking at the big guy. Raphael narrowed his eyes slightly at her. “Well, he is very big....anything else about him?”

Don smiled and began to tell her all what they knew....

Shellback did not like how close the female pale skin was to Soft Scent. Cub wandered off to find somewhere to sleep, ignoring Shellback and the others. Shellback went up to Soft Scent's shell and wrapped his larger fore paws around Soft Scent. The female gave him a look, causing Shellback's fore paws to tighten around Soft Scent.

Shellback did not understand why she was in the other shellbacks' territory. She did not belong. Shellback could smell that she was Two Face's mate. Why did she not back away from Soft Scent? Shellback growled, deeply wishing he could get the heavy rock off of his face so he could properly snarl at the female.

Soft Scent rested his own paws on Shellback's. Shellback glared at the female for she bared her teeth at him. A deep rumbling growl hummed through Shellback's chest. The female moved closer, causing Shellback to tighten his grip on Soft Scent. Did the female not understand? Shellback growled at her again. She paused. Shellback glanced around and saw Earth Scent was up now, paw resting on one of the long rock claws he had.

Female pale skin moved closer once again, making Shellback snarl at her. Soft Scent began to worry, for his scent changed slightly. Shellback lowered his head, nuzzling Soft Scent's throat, purring. He wanted Soft Scent to be calm. Female paused, fear now beginning to come off of her in small waves. Shellback kept his eyes trained on her. She held her paws up, making Shellback tense. Was she going to attack?

Shellback released Soft Scent, moving in front of the beta male. Another snarl wormed it's way out of Shellback's throat. Female made some pale skin noise, apparently calling for her mate. Two Face came up, Earth Scent in tow. Shellback eyed the three of them. He could take on the Pale Skins but he did not know about Earth Scent. Shellback never fought another shellback before so he knew that Earth Scent was the biggest threat out of them all. Growling, Shellback shifted, keeping Soft Scent at his back.

The biggest male flexed his paws, watching the others........
